enhazed
Well, I unchecked the !ut option and the files were renamed to .avi automatically, I didn't even have to restart uTorrent. Then I did a recheck and nothing changed. The files still don't open and they still have the wrong names.
µtorrent-Guest
ut does not change names of files. all it does at most is appending the extra extension (which interfere with checking the torrent since the filenames are given in the .torrent file without this extra extension). Those names are set inside the .torrentfile so what do you mean by "still have the wrong names"?
enhazed
As I said in my first post, I chose do download 5 specific files, and they were at 100%. Then, after uTorrent somehow extracted them from that huge temporary file, they were unplayable AND had different names (the names were NOT those of the files I had chosen for download, but of some files that were at 0%). That's what I found odd.
SirToby
Having the same problem with 2 different torrents on 1 day (both from http://7track.org/). I think I've never had this before, so maybe this has something to do with Build 8682?Here is the output from Process Explorer:Process PID CPU Description Company Name Command Line Comment Window TitleSystem Idle Process 0 25.53 Interrupts n/a Hardware Interrupts DPCs n/a 1.06 Deferred Procedure Calls System 4 1.06 smss.exe 412 csrss.exe 476 wininit.exe 520 services.exe 600 1.06 svchost.exe 780 unsecapp.exe 2916 Sink to receive asynchronous callbacks for WMI client application Microsoft Corporation D:\Windows\system32\wbem\unsecapp.exe -Embedding WmiPrvSE.exe 3012 dllhost.exe 3528 4.26 COM Surrogate Microsoft Corporation D:\Windows\system32\DllHost.exe /Processid:{AB8902B4-09CA-4BB6-B78D-A8F59079A8D5} svchost.exe 840 svchost.exe 868 svchost.exe 1004 audiodg.exe 1120 svchost.exe 1032 dwm.exe 2220 Desktopfenster-Manager Microsoft Corporation "D:\Windows\system32\Dwm.exe" svchost.exe 1048 taskeng.exe 2196 Aufgabenplanungsmodul Microsoft Corporation taskeng.exe {17E1EC61-6333-429C-BFEA-391D9E001AFF} taskeng.exe 2360 SLsvc.exe 1156 svchost.exe 1188 svchost.exe 1364 spoolsv.exe 1576 svchost.exe 1600 AppleMobileDeviceService.exe 1748 gearsec.exe 1788 LSSrvc.exe 1860 mdm.exe 1940 svchost.exe 1984 svchost.exe 2012 svchost.exe 2036 svchost.exe 296 svchost.exe 272 SearchIndexer.exe 456 wmpnetwk.exe 3464 iPodService.exe 3964 lsass.exe 620 1.06 lsm.exe 628 csrss.exe 528 1.06 winlogon.exe 564 explorer.exe 2248 1.06 Windows-Explorer Microsoft Corporation D:\Windows\Explorer.EXE Zusatz SOUNDMAN.EXE 2536 Realtek Sound Manager Realtek Semiconductor Corp. jewelisheaven
So... this would happen EACH time you add the torrent to your client? Could you write the specific procedure you do... including all files you en/dis-able in the add torrent dialog?
Greg Hazel
I believe this issue is caused by skipping files and having bt.compact_allocation enabled simultaniously. Unfortunately, this causes uT to misplace the data.
SirToby
@ jewelishheaven: It is exactly as alus says. The bug occurs every time since I upgraded to build 8682 when I skip all files but a few. It works fine when I skip only say 2 files. And it also works fine when I disable bt.compact_allocation and then add a new torrent. But not for the torrents that I added before. Ultima
Heh, alus had recently mentioned this bt.compact_allocation bug with regards to skipping files (and thus, the partfile), but I failed to draw the connection... A rather nasty bug :/
x38
thank you!I've had this issue a few times and had to re-dl the files, I ended up dl-ing th entire archive in one case.
