Cyberian
Hello;I've ZyXEL X-550, and its StreamEngine works great with eMule and Azureus. With uTorrent, however, latency for VoIP goes all over, and it even loses some packets.I think 1.5 was okay.Any ideas why?
Ultima
Are you using DHT?
Cyberian
I tried turning it off,, but the result was the same.
Ultima
Have you tried playing around with the Protocol Encryption settings (maybe disabling it)?
Cyberian
Yup, and Azureus works fine with its encryption turned on.
Ultima
Er... I've no clue. Well, it's a bug report for a reason, so I guess we'll just have to see what comes of it.
Firon
layer7 QoS and protocol encryption don't really go together.
Cyberian
Azureus works fine, though, and I'm using specific ports with lowest priority.
DreadWingKnight
bittorrent traffic isn't restricted to those specific ports.Outbound traffic connects to the remote user's ports. Those ports are controlled by that user's client configuration.Port-based QoS won't work properly for BT. Cyberian
With Azureus and eMule, it works fine, though.
sven007
For your QoS, are you using ports or L7? I'm using Ports and it works fine... but i don't use Voip. we would need to know exactly how you're setting this up, such as is your Voip set to exclusive (high priority), and how uTorrent is being recognized in the QoS filter. msde
Azureus only used the port I specified, while utorrent uses some default port assignment scheme on outbound connections. That's been my big issue trying to get QoS working after switching from Azureus.

n0ctem
Is there or will there ever be a way to restrict outbound traffic to a range of ports? Some of the trackers I go to don't work with just one outbound port.
Switeck
If you don't bind outgoing to 1 port, it's still going to fall in approximately the 1000-5000 range. (Ephemeral port range.)
