Changed torrent upload/download designated directories -

Moved all my directories\files [in tact] to a 2nd internal HD [F:\] from their duplicate locations on C:\ in an attempt to free up space on C:\.

After that - I went into Utorrent "preferences" and changed the directory for the "location of downloaded files" to F:\same directory\same file name. I then updated the tracker...but all I have are "red" X's for all of the torrents.

I have subsequently reinstated all the directories\files back on C:\ but still have the "red" X on all my torrents.

Any clues?

Many thanks - M.

Urg... you're probably going to have to load all of the torrents over... before you do that, if you feel like experimenting, open resume.dat in a text editor, and see if the paths are correct. Make sure that if you're changing any of the paths in resume.dat, it's only the drive letter that changes, otherwise you're going to have to mess with a bunch of numbers and path lengths and such.

Thanks for the info - will give it a try. Can you tell though, can you "ever" relocate torrent files to another location/drive and have them recognized afterwards. Will need to keep all future torrent down/up loads assigned to the separate internal drive due to space limitations on C:\. I guess my question is will this work provided I update those file directories\file names in Utorrent from here on out, or am I restricted to keeping all torrents on C:\ and in the same directory as was originally set up?
