Dead-Jester
I am having a speed issue and it was suggested that I try connecting my computer directly to my modem and seeing if that helps. The problem I am having with this, is that when I connect my computer to my modem I can't go anywhere on the net. It's almost like it won't recognize my computer unless it's going thru my router. Can someone help me get my modem to work without my router so I can test the speed issue? Thanks.

Switeck
Reconnect the router if you haven't already, go into the router's setup and see what DNS values the router was using as well as any other significant information it mentions.Copy all that down (CTRL+C) and paste it into a text file. When you remove the router, you'll probably need to put that information in your computer's networking settings.
