Rutty14
Hey, I recently arrived at University and I'm getting dialup download speed for my torrents and it's not just me but the whole school. We're all on the same network obviously, and I noticed in utorrent it says that Upnp port mapping cannot be configured right. So what do I have to do to get faster speeds on my downloads? I'm in my own room on part of the school network and I'm totally lost. Someone please email me if you have any clue.
Switeck
Why email you?The solution is to get a separate DSL or cable line if you can...because most University Networks are so heavily protected that even encrypted BitTorrent traffic only gets through at a trickle if at all. What settings were you trying to use?Have you read the University's network useage policies? Determination
Jonnybob, you need to read Switeck's post right above yours. University networks have their best interests in mind, not yours. You will, most likely, not be able to use Bitorrent on their network.

jonnybob
yeah you can. its easy to configure!i thought that too at first. theres always a way around!!!!!!!go to "tools" on msn messenger (windows live, the new one, is good to use btw) then go to "options", "connections" then "advanced" in the http area type in your username and passowrd that your university has given you. that should be it!
