Drawsden
Just upgraded to cable PRO but still can't go above 1.0MB/s. Could it be my Linksys BEFSR41-v3 Router? All else is OK(except having to release and renew the router inorder to get the upload up to snuff)Private tracker, no dht, green light, ample seedsKeep up the great work!!!! Switeck
What speed does your ISP say you're supposed to be getting? What speeds do you get for up and down when doing Speed Guide (CTRL+G) speed tests? What settings as shown on the Speed Guide screen are you using? Drawsden
Thanks for the reply1.6 down1.0 upSpeed test:13154 / 807Your download speed : 13154 kbps or 1644.3 KB/sec.Your upload speed : 807 kbps or 100.9 KB/sec.speed guide setting xx/1Mbit.With the regular cable i could get 1.0 MB/s D/L stable, and avg. 70 kB/s U/L. Now with the pro its the same.....gets to 1.0 and nothing more. The upload has increased to 110 kB/s(and as high as 118 kB/s)so I know its active. Up and Down set to Unlimited. TCPIP patched to 100. kurahashi
Never ever set your upload to unlimited.First set the upload cap suggested by setup guide. If upload is stable and downloads are good you can try to test higher values. If not - try lower.
Switeck
And high half-open connections (anything over 8 really) won't help in the long run. They allow you to connect a tiny bit quicker to more connections...but may be making you more likely to LOSE connection with ones you already have.Even having very high global and per torrent connection max won't help much either. Even 40 connections per torrent should easily be enough for the connection...and running more torrents than the xx/1 mbit setting probably will just reduce total download speed due to contention for limited bandwidth and other resources. Drawsden
Sorry for not being clear.....upload unlimited only while seeding only. I reduced per the suggestions but no joy. 1.0 steady. Tried different files, different trackers, etc. with same result. On another note, my son and I are both with the same cable provider only he has the standard. When i make a torrent of his hockey games and send him the .torrent we connect but the most he can get from me is 55 kB/s stable. Is there a way to get him to use the full 100? We have nothing else running, no restrictions in settings other than forced encryption. Should we enable DHT for this type of transfer? Regards... Ultima
DHT isn't needed. Um... how does an Ubuntu torrent download?
