blackjuice
I'm a newbie to this, i know that there are guides and other people have post about this problem, but I still cant get an open port. I have other P2P programs(Limewire,Morpheus, etc),they all seem to work perfectly. I've read ever thing I can about ports and even went to the portforwarding.com. Every where I go it keeps saying something about a router, do have to have a router to open a port? Nothing moves on Utorrent everything is 0(speed,peers,d/u load, ratio, everything!) I've tried multiple different port numbers, none have yet to work. What exactly do have to do to get the correct port number? Help please anone. DreadWingKnight
Do openoffice torrents ( http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/index.html ) also give you 0 speeds? What firewall do you have? What Antivirus do you have?Have you been through the faq yet? blackjuice
I think Norton security firewall and antivirus. Yes I have been through the faq, but after going through many of them I still got the same results.
blackjuice
I think the only real problem is just opening a port. If I can get that i believe everything would be straight then.

blackjuice
I finally got it open a port, I used the same port number as my Limewire program. I have to use the same port number as Limewire, or the Utorrent wont open port. Is it ok for them to be same or do they supposed to be different? Thats the only way it opens, but I still have no movement for any of my downloads and I the red circle at the bottom wont go away. I check the firewall and Upnp, what else could i be doing wrong? Ultima
You can't use them simultaneously.
blackjuice
but the crazy thing about that is, Utorrent wont open a port unless i have Limewire running, when I shut down Limewire, Utorrent disconnects the port. I dont know why???
Ultima
It's something wrong with your computer setup, not µTorrent. You're probably not giving µTorrent permission to listen on the specified port, where you probably are for Limewire.
