mtkphoenix83 Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Hey all, I have recently got broadband on an 'upto' 8Mb and my connection varies between 5.5Mbps and 6.8Mbps, depending on time of day, each time I activate my broadband. I am currently connecting with roughly 230 - 250 nodes (DHT) and only getting speeds of approx. 35k/bs upto a 50k/bs. In comparison to a stable 310k/bs, earlier today with the same number of nodes (230-250).So...I have a very simple question to ask:Which option should I choose from the list of speeds under the: 'Connection Type' drop-box? If however, you may think its something else that is causing these slow speeds, then any advice would be appreciated. Thanks a lot.mtkphoenix83PS: I did a Speed Test and these were the results (if they help)! The link is here...
Ultima Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 Rerun the Speed Test several times -- I assume you selected the test mirror closest to your location. Anyhow, test while you're not using the internet connection for ANY other reason, be it chatting, browsing, gaming, downloading, or using another computer on the network (yes, all other computers on the network, if any, must not be using the connection at all). Take the average upload speed and select it in the Speed Guide.
