dom1986
Before I was on a ADSL Alcatel BT Broadband 2MB and I just upgraded to BT Home Hub Wireless 8MB Broadband.... before I was getting speeds over 100kb/sec no problem with just a simple install of utorrent and no need to open ports. However with my new Broadband I am lucky to get over 10kb/sec, sometimes I connect to a torrent however and it goes very fast, for example I am downloading a torrent now at 88 kb/sec however this is very rare.I have tried to do a port forward following the instructions but when I get to the BT Home Hub http it does not have an option to change settings for this.Has anyone else had this problem and is able to solve it?Thanks alot
garethmooney
I have bt total broadband 8mb too, I use a d link g604t router instead of the bt hub and software and get consistent speeds of 200-400k. My girlfriend, however uses the bt home hub and software and has the exact same problem as you. I'm yet to find a workaround, it's very frustrating. The only thing I've found to fix it is a router that doesn't use the bt home hub software
garethmooney
following the instructions here (http://64.233.183.104/search?q=cache:Upgi-daADX0J:www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/showthread.php%3Ft%3D418613%26page%3D4+port+forwarding+utorrent+bt+home+hub&hl=en&gl=uk&ct=clnk&cd=2) I think I've got a proper connection to utorrent with the home hub. you must make sure UPnP is enabled on both the home hub and utorrent. I'm yet to see if this permanently fixes the problem, so far so good
