dudeboyz Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 I don't understand what the WebUI stuff is all about. I don't know what it is for and how it works and why it is important to use with Utorrent.Could someone please take a bit of time and explain it to me like I'm the village idiot? I just wanna learn what it is for and how to make use of it.Thanks
Ultima Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 It's useful for people who aren't at their computers all day, but do leave it on to download/seed/whatever [and want to be able to control µTorrent].
dudeboyz Posted October 27, 2006 Author Report Posted October 27, 2006 ICleolion - I'm just trying to figure out how it works and why it is important. No need to be a total meanie...
dudeboyz Posted October 27, 2006 Author Report Posted October 27, 2006 Ultima - is it like using some sort of remote control software, like PC Anywhere or even a Remote Terminal or something? Is it for controlling and / or using Utorrent from a remote location when you are not physically at the machine where it is running? If it is, why not just use some kind of remote terminal software instead?
Ultima Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 No, you use it via a compatible web browser. It's easier to just download it and try it (provided you read the readme) rather than ask about it
dudeboyz Posted October 27, 2006 Author Report Posted October 27, 2006 Hey, on a home network can it be tested too? I have 4 machines at home and if I loaded it on one machine and was downloading torrents, could I access it from another machine on the same home network via WebUI?Thanks
Lord Alderaan Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 You can even test it on the same computer.Just read the readme.txt in the webui package.
dudeboyz Posted October 27, 2006 Author Report Posted October 27, 2006 Same computer? Now THAT is kinda wicked cool. Thanks.
Ultima Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 Use localhost instead of an IP (though that's the same as 127.0.0.1).
