A box used to appear saying "uTorrent is not currently the default application for downloading torrent files. Do you wish to make it so" but this has stopped appearing. stalks Posted October 28, 2006 Author Report Share Posted October 28, 2006 Thanks, I shall try to explain my situation a little more fully, as my first posting was a little sparse in detail. I also use Shareaza to share files and my laptop has decided to use this as the default download programme, so that when trying to download anything from a site such as mininova, there is no choice as to the download destination.I looked in preferences but could find nothing that gave me the option to set the default download programme. I tried right clicking on the desired torrent in mininova but the 'open with' option was not there.Sorry for my non technical language, but I am a complete novice to this business, and would appreciate any more advice anyone might be able to offer. Ultima Posted October 28, 2006 Report Share Posted October 28, 2006 If it keeps changing, then make Shareaza stop stealing the .torrent file association, then just go to the preferences -- you'll see it at the bottom of the very first section you're looking at.
