sixths3ns3
I was downloading a file when suddenly a CRC error was reported by uTurrent. I recovered the file and patched the area affected by the bad sector by overwriting it with 0's. Transfered the file to a good location and run uTorrent, I did a force-recheck of the file, and it continued downloading. But I was thinking if uTorrent is able to determine that patched area and overwrite it with original data. DreadWingKnight
because of the level that a CRC error comes from (operating system's filesystem driver), uTorrent can't automatically handle it.
sixths3ns3
so if uTorrent has finished downloading the file, considering the fact that I patched the portion of the file, there is no chance the file will be identical with the source, am I right? DreadWingKnight
Wrong.Your force re-check discarded bad blocks.Unless a CRC error happens after download, it's a complete file.
