d_ano Posted November 2, 2006 Report Share Posted November 2, 2006 i have the mcaffe firewall it doesnt block the programs of nothing it blocks the ip adresses i have opened a port on my pc for utorrent to use and i saw that 39000 ip's had been blocked from that port today why does it do this because i have forwarded the port on my router perfect and would the blocking of all these ips slow my speed?i dont want to disable the firewall because it blocks adress that i dont know of does anyone know how to allow all traffic from the 1 porti know in the firewall post that was made tells you to uninstall the firewall but thats bad because a firewall is important Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Switeck Posted November 2, 2006 Report Share Posted November 2, 2006 Your router also has a firewall and should only forward incoming connections TO µTorrent. Mcaffe SHOULD be allowing those ips to your forwarded port -- you need to change the settings so it does or speeds WILL suffer.A firewall won't protect you from a virus until the virus tries to make network connections (to the internet maybe?)...so by then you're already infected.
