fridayunited
For whatever reason, be it the cisco clean access my college made me install and run to access the net or some sort of blocking system they've thrown up, i can't download .torrent files. The download just stops or fails or the file is corrupt after finishing. I've tried getright and other downloading programs, i'm using WinXP Mozilla firefox 2.0, and uTorrent.Note that downloading is fine once i get the torrent. I got my friend to send me one and the speed was fine. If theres any suggestions of changing settings or proxy servers or anything, keep in mind i have little knowledge of programming, though i can follow instructions to the letter. Thank you for your time, and if theres any concern about it (i'm noting that little caption up top) i use torrents to get shows i missed (I missed lost three weeks in a row ;_, and subbed anime. Ultima
Try using Tor (a proxy service) or TorPark (a Firefox build that makes use of Tor internally).
DreadWingKnight
Even though torpark is broken?
Ultima
Heh I wouldn't know, as I don't use TorPark... guess that's my cue to stop recommending it
fridayunited
Umm... how do i use Tor, since i can't get torpack anymore? ;_; what if i went back to firefox 1 and got torpack? Well yea i won't do that, so Tor, the standalone program i downloaded it and executed the file, it talked for a little while then said it successfully opened a circuit and client functionality is working, then stops talking, what do i do now with it? Ultima
Set Firefox to use Tor as a proxy server. I forget the exact configuration (as I tried Tor a LONG time ago), but they should tell you in the user manual.
