b.noise Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 From the speed tab, everytime I select '30 sec' uTorrent crashes. No matter what I'm doing (downloading or not).Selecting 1 sec, 5 sec or 1 min doesn't make uTorrent crash.I'm quite sure I have this problem only recently, but I'm with the 1.6 version since it's been released.Thank you for any help.
Ultima Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 Are you sure it's not the debugger just acting up?
b.noise Posted November 8, 2006 Author Report Posted November 8, 2006 Well the Visual Studio 2005 debugger should come up in case of crashes... and the fact I can easily reproduce the crash make me think it's uTorrent fault. I always had VS2005 (NOT cracked) + uTorrent installed, but I noticed this problem only recently.
Ultima Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 Indeed, but I've never had a crash when switching the update interval (and seeing as how this has almost never been reported, other people likely haven't experienced this either), so MY guess is that it's NOT µTorrent's fault.
b.noise Posted November 8, 2006 Author Report Posted November 8, 2006 So what should I do? I can't uninstal VS2005, I need it (and frankly speaking the problem with uTorrent is not so bad, I can live with it but it's really strange).
Ultima Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 (1) Check the incompatible softwares list in the FAQ. If you have ANYTHING listed there, even if you don't experience the symptoms as described, do mention it here.(2) Did you perform a Windows Update recently?
b.noise Posted November 8, 2006 Author Report Posted November 8, 2006 1. no incompatible software2. yes I have nothing to update :|
Ultima Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 Have you ever patched TCPIP.sys? What is net.max_halfopen set to?
b.noise Posted November 8, 2006 Author Report Posted November 8, 2006 No, never patched tcpip.sys. The max halfopen connections is set to 8.
Ultima Posted November 8, 2006 Report Posted November 8, 2006 Back up your settings folder, then clear it out and start µTorrent with a clean configuration -- sometimes weird stuff happen due to corrupt settings files.
b.noise Posted November 9, 2006 Author Report Posted November 9, 2006 I will do it when uTorrent will finish my downloads.Thank you.
