Hey guys is it possible to torrent if im behind a router (school router, I'm in a dorm) to dl torrents without having the ports forwarded (as obviously I cannot). I have already tried using port 443, which is open as it is the secure forms port, but even so the torrents do not start. Any ideas would be appreciated :)

Do you think I may be blocked as far as torrenting goes since port 443 is open and should work fine but doesn't? Also, I noticed that even when on my proxy, I cannot download torrent files; I can go to the website and click to download the file for starting the torrent, but that file will never start downloading. However, I can download other files perfectly fine, so I think my school may have implemented something to block torrents. How can I identify exactly how they are doing this and then get around it if possible?

Bah guess I'll have to take the alternate method and hope the ITS people are feeling generous, aka ask them to open up a Bnet port so I can play online during the weekends (and then use that port for bittorrent). They did that for some people, so I guess it should work, though im not sure if just opening the port will be enough, seeing as how port 443 is open and it doesnt work.
