lentikularis Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 i have a completed torrent, now in seeding mode, but on the files tab, the different files inside the torrent stuck at 99%i'm sure, the files are complete, so this is only a roundup error or somthing similar?!this is the first time, this problem occurs, so i could show u a screenshotmaybe i could download the torrent with another client, to check, if it's a client or a tracker problem?!anything else is just perfect!!!
Animorc Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 If the file(s) you downloaded work, then it's probably a GUI bug, but if it's a smaller torrent, you can always try downloading it with another client.
jroc Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Make sure u have the whole file. Cuz in uTorrent (and some other clients), if u go to the files section and click "dont download", even if u dont have the whole file(s) it will switch to seeding. The same might apply if u just downloading and: A.)There was only one seeder and they jumped off; B.) u cant connect to any of the seeders/peers anymore; C.) u have all of the file thats available so far.
lentikularis Posted October 27, 2005 Author Report Posted October 27, 2005 yes, utorrent definitely downloaded all files. it was a rar archive with 27 partfiles and all parts stuck at 99% (0.5mb missing). every file was 50mb, devided into 100 pieces each with 0.5mb. the only part which shows up 100% was the last part (~47mb). the graphical progress bar was completly blue for all partfiles. tomorrow i'll try the torrent again on azureus, from which i switched to utorrentbtw, is it right, that utorrent will switch to seeding, if it completed the torrent except for the files marked "do not download"? imho a seeder should only be someone, who have the torrent completly and not the pieces he want to have completed. if every client reports seeding to the tracker, but not a single client have 100% this could be end up in real trouble, but confusing the users for sure...how will utorrent react, if i mark a file to download, which was previously marked as not to download. will utorrent switch back from seeding to downloading?(sorry for the second part, i know it's ot...)
jroc Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 All the sites I checked, it still had me leeching. But uTorrent had it seeding. I guess as long as the tracker reports it right, it shouldnt be a problem. And uTorrent will switch back from seeding to downloading if the file(s) u marked for "dont download" are changed back to whatever priority u want.
