Bittorrent is killing my connection?

Hi,

I'm on 10mb, cable.. no router or firewalls and I got utorrent 1.6 474.

when i'm downloading i can't surf the internet it just dont open any pages and times out alot.

i ran a speed test at a few places..

loaded 3131kb in 2.3s at 10938kbp/s

my upload is 60kb/s over all so I set it to 40, then I set it to 30 tried 10 it's still the same so it can't be my upload.

anyone know why?
