kool4kats
I use the same modem/router as you and I did not forward any ports manually. I just enable UPnP in the router page and it will be forwarded for you automatically. This way I can always change ports in utorrent on the fly without going to router web page as well. I always get green using this method.

Ultima
Frankly, UPnP should normally not be used with D-Links... What modem are you using? How about firewall?
smenkhare
It's a DSL G604T only using the dlink hardware firewall
Ultima
Ah, a modem+router combo... So no software firewall? Did you set a static IP up for your computer when you forwarded the port?
smenkhare
uhm...I think i did under the "lan clients" tab.
Ultima
Eh? I'm not sure what that means, but it sounds like you didn't set the static IP up properly...

Ultima
I hope we're talking about IP Address from the ipconfig output... Do any start with 192.168, 10, or 172.16?
Switeck
It may seem crazy, but if you manually forward the D-Link router AND disable UPnP in the router and you're still not getting a green light in Torrent....then you may want to enable UPnP in µTorrent to see if it can bypass any other (software?) firewalls that are UPnP compatible. smenkhare
ok again without touching anything the light has been green all night but speeds still seem a bit slow.what should i be expecting on a 512 connection? most seem to be about 20 and this particular one is only about 2.the seed to peer ratio is. seeds 4(5)peers 1(2)regards,Peter
Switeck
Presumeably, you're only running 1 or 2 torrents at a time? Also, with such few seeds and peers it is not surprising to have slow speeds from it...though 2 KB/sec download is very slow. ...and what is your upload speed for that torrent? smenkhare
upload is roughly double.i thought high seeds and low peers was good. :Srunning 2 torrents.
