Grauw
The rounding of the completion and availability numbers seems to differ. This is noticeable when you've downloaded an incomplete torrent to its fullest, e.g.:Availability: 0.508Completion: 50.9%I suppose the one is using a round function while the other uses a floor one.~Grauw
ludde
One is based on the number of pieces, and the other one on the amount downloaded data in chunks.. not much to do about it..
GeekK
Doesn't the Availability refer to the availability of the torrent in the entire swarm? And completion just to your own percentage of pieces/torrent?
Grauw
GeekK yes, your point? Read my post.
Animorc
The availability is based on the peers/seeds you are connected to iirc
Grauw
ludde, ah.Can another user share chunks of a piece that hasn't been completed, then?If not, I don't know how I could get more than was available on the torrent… I don't think anyone having more data connected at any time (the completion rate was 50.9% at the start and it still is). Another torrent has it, too. The availability says 0.988, the completion percentage of the individual file shows 98.8% as well, but the 'done' field in the list says 98.9%. Grauw
I just re-downloaded the file that's got an availability of 0.508 (for at least a week), and it ended up at 50.9% again. I didn't see any partially downloaded piece, and in the files list it says 50.8% as well. So I really think it's a rounding error… Not that it's a major issue…
