Speed problems when utorrent is closed after using it

Hi, I wonder if anybody else have this problem. After using bittorrent for like 1 days I need to reset my ISP modems to get the same speed as before using utorrent. As exemple, when i try to download something from my ISP webpage before using torrent I goes to 400ko/s and after using utorrent it drops to 20-40ko/s.

My ISP is BELL/Sympatico.

Also this problem occurs when i put my ISP modem to brigde mode (needed for my VOIP or else my calls was dropped after 5 mins).

You're probably using settings that are too aggressive for your connection...the overloads cause even the modem or router to slow down and then only a reset seems to solve the problem.
