Problem: Tracker Status: Failure: not authorised.......

My external hard disc was intermitantly disconnected yesterday(not by me) and since then the 3 downloads I was doing have stopped completely with some preceeded by the downward red arrow though not all. I'm still apparently uploading/seeding but the red arrowed torrents give this message:

Tracker Status: Failure: not authorised; too many seeding peers by this userid. max=15

Does this mean if I reduce the number of torrents I'm seeding all will be well , and if this is the case, why has this happened now when I've been fine for months?

Many thanks in advance.

For one thing, the torrent is definitely from a private tracker, or some tracker that limits. With that in mind, I must ask: do you have an account at that tracker? If so, and you don't share the .torrent files or your account with anyone, then yes, you should lower the number of torrents you have started.

Very strange. I'm having the exact same problem as stinkymojo. I've never seen this message before and now it pops up this Monday morning (I noticed stinkymojo reported this on Friday). I did not disconnect my hard drive (or anything else) so I think in stinkymojo's case that was a coincidence. I get two types of messages:

Tracker Status: Failure: not authorised; too many seeding peers by this userid. max=10

Tracker Status: Failure: not authorised; too many overall peers by this userid. max=15

This is showing on about half my torrents. If I shut down uTorrent and start it again, it does it to a different set of torrents. I only have about 35 torrents loaded, most of them completed and seeding. Only three are downloading. I was using v1.5 and have only just now upgraded to 1.6, but that didn't affect anything.

If more users are having this problem, I hope they report it, because something has suddenly changed or gone awry.
