Very slow download speeds?

When I first downloaded this program, it was working wonderfully, but recently, after upgrading, it really slows down. Down to about .3 KBS... After reading some similar topics, I tried the remedies, but none seemed to work. I even tried disconnecting from my router and connecting straight to the modem to no avail; does anyone have any idea what could be happening? I mean, when I first got this the speeds were around 100 KBS - 200 KBS, it was amazing. It says network OK, I have Windows Firewall turned off, but I have no idea what's going on.
