coolhandphil
Hi,I've had utorrent for about two/three weeks. On Monday my computer has started to do something strange. When I'm in uTorrent and I try to play audio/video files the media I'm watching/listening to, starts to pause/slow down. Does uTorrent hog system resourses? (In task manager it only says 12,000k, not too bad. My computer is 3.39 Ghz / 1 Gb of RAM).I've read FAQ but can't see anything on the subject. Thanks for the help!coolhandphil

qeorge
Wrong forum et al, but real quick:Are you playing your media and downloading torrents onto a USB drive? I do this, and it can cause this problem. No matter how fast your computer is, USB 2.0 is still 480Mbps, and we won't even mention USB 1....If so, try finding a cache setting on your media player and turning it up. coolhandphil
Hi,Thanks for the replys.Where should I post?I'm not using a USB drive. Just downloading through Utorrent and watching video or listening to audio through windows media player.I notice that when I close utorrent the media plays okay, but as said in my original post, it's not taking much system resources up so I don't get what's happening.I am trying the advice to increase cache now. I will see if it works. (thanks).Phil

Ultima
Get Process Explorer from sysinternals.com, File > Save, then copy and paste the process list in the .txt file that you save from there
