soulesschild
I recently switched to a DGL-4300 router and did all the nice setup stuff and such, but now Utorrent does not use the correct IP! it uses the IP the router pulls from the modem itself, instead of my DHCP assigned static IP of 192.168.0.100. Is there a way to fix this?
Ultima
If you're referring to the IP address shown when you check your ports, then it's not the same thing. WAN (public, external) IP addresses are not the same as LAN (private, internal) IP addresses.
soulesschild
yes im referring to the IP address when i check my ports through UTorrent. It used to show my 192.168.0.100 but now its the actual WAN IP address that the router pulls, the IP i see when i check the router admin page. Is Utorrent supposed to function this way or did I do something wrong?EDIT: wonder if this helps, this is my log[09:37:14] UPnP: Discovered new device: http://192.168.0.1:4444/wipconn[09:37:23] Error opening Windows firewall: 0x800706D9[09:37:53] UPnP: ERROR -3 mapping port 32459 -> 192.168.0.100:32459
Ultima
I'm still not sure what you're asking. The port checker can only see your WAN IP address as it is not a part of your private LAN. Do notice that the port checker is located on utorrent.com -- an external website not integrated into µTorrent itself.
soulesschild
hrm interesting, i did some stuff to fix it and apparently it works now, i set my computer to pull an IP out of the dynamic range that the router uses to assign IPs and now it magically works. weird?
