Ultima
Are you getting a bunch of hashfails? What router are you using?
Ladizo
Yes over 5000 hashfails. And I'm not using any router (I think). the computer is connected directly to the cable modem.

Ladizo
bah.Just tell me what you mean by "router"...cause I'm not sure we're talking about the same thing...
Ultima
Router as in the hardware routing packets coming from outside (from the modem) to the correct computer on the network. But since you're not using a dedicated router, I need to know if your modem functions as a modem+router combo.Edit: Or I'll just cut to the chase. If you're using D-Link hardware (or the modem is indeed a modem+router), check if it's on DMZ mode. If it is, then it could be causing hashfails. If it isn't a modem+router combo, then chances are, the torrent is poisoned.
Ladizo
So you need to know just what modem?like - Motorola SurfBoad SB4200 Cable modem? And what does "Poisoned torrent" mean? like a bug?
Ultima
Yeah... as much as I hate SurfBoard modems, it's probably not the cause of the problem here, so as I indicated earlier, my guess would be that the torrent is poisoned. I presume it doesn't happen with any other torrent?
Ladizo
right. so I just remove it and find a new one or is there a way to fix it?
Ultima
Probably no way to fix it, so a new torrent is the way to go.
Ladizo
Right... OK thanks!
Switeck
If you block the poisoners, then your torrent should finish quickly.Almost always, the poisoners are in a very narrow ip range...often only their last number after the last period changes such as 38.100.0.0-38.100.0.255If you add the probable bad ips to µTorrent's ipfilter.dat file (you may need to create this text file in notepad), then µTorrent should block those ips...preventing them from sending bad data in the first place.
