Ultima
There is no such thing as "how fast BitTorrent should be going." It's dependent on the people you're connected to, not on the protocol itself.

ak471992
yep they are forwarded and there is a green light (after like a week of trying to get it to work). but the maximum speed i got is like 20kB/s
spork985
Your maximum connection speed is also a factor. If you don't know what it is, goto http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/ and run a speed test. Make sure when you do this that you close uTorrent and all other internet-based programs. Take the number you get for download and divide it by 8 to change it into kilobyte form. You should see roughly this number when downloading a fast torrent. ak471992
i had about download 1920kbps is that about 240 kB/s and upload of 241kbps is that 30kB/sthanks
Switeck
Considering overhead costs, it's easier to just divide bandwidth kilobits/sec by 10 to get file transfer rates in kilobytes/sec.So download 1920kbps would be 192 KB/sec and upload 241kbps would be 24 KB/sec. ak471992
so now what should i do
µtorrent-Guest
in case you are british, ask your grandpa who the "Krauts" are ;-)now that you know how fast your uploadspeed is, you type CTRL+G and choose the nearest value to that. (try the xx/256k first. It's a bit higher then you, but the few more may connections shouldn't be a big problem. alternatively try xx/192k)if the speeds are still slow, even if your setup is now correct, then get better speeds by downloading from www.legaltorrents.com and other high speed peers only.Maybe BitTorrent offers you fast speeds for DRM rubbish if you pay them? :-(
