ElationAviation
I'm posting this on the forum because I've looked high and low for a solution to this.... I have the connection error (red !) at the bottom of µtorrent and I've tried absolutely everything to get rid of it. I'm running off of a WRT54GS v4 with the latest firmware (1.06.1)... everything is configured for UPnp... and still nothing. Though I can download and upload (uploads are much faster than normal), the download speed fluctuates immensely and it's not half of what I get with non-torrent downloads. I've got Norton '06 running, the firewall is configured for µtorrent... I have the static IP all set up... and still, nothing.I also have PeerGuardian running, but it doesn't seem to be interfering with anything.Any ideas...? Switeck
Norton may be (probably is) µTorrent-hostile even when "correctly configured".UPnP is more trouble-prone or just plain unworkable than manual port forwarding.
ElationAviation
I've tried the manual port forwarding method, but whenever I run the test on µTorrent it comes back as the port not being open... but it works with UPnP.I've also tried running the test with Norton disabled... perhaps I should just try closing Norton altogether. Ultima
Disabling and exiting are essentially the same thing -- Norton can still affect connectability with its systemwide hooks. The only way to check if Norton is the culprit is to see if everything works fine after uninstalling it.
