helpneed
Hi, I'm using Singapore MOL 12000Kbps/384Kbps and I'm also using broadband model: WRT54G plus WUSB54G network adapter. Got a green circle with a tick so I presume that my port forward was done correctly and uses EvID4226Patch. Tweak my connection in dslreport and follow every bit of the instruction. The result I got was less then 8kB/s! Confirm that it isn't the trackers becuz i tried many and they display the same result. Is there anything else or I just simply did everything incorrectly?BTW about the HyperWRT or something. I read: You should avoid upgrading over a wireless connection, since the connection may drop out and brick the router.I am using wireless do I avoid the patch? Ultima
Your ISP (or at least companies partnered with and using its broadband) is/are known to throttle BitTorrent traffic... As for upgrading the firmware, is there any reason you can't connect your computer directly to the router via ethernet cable?
helpneed
The reason i can't connect the modem directly to my PC is because my PC was being setup inside my room, the problem is that my room doesn't have a TV antenna. Lead me no choice but to use wireless connection. I'm not really sure that my ISP did anything, I believe that those who uses the same ISP do not have the same problem as I do.Maybe a site to test the connection or something? Ultima
I'll just assume that means you don't have an ethernet cable... ;\http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/index.htmlHow does a torrent from here run?
helpneed
Too bad it isn't long enough. The torrent download speed is around 10 - 20kB/s with seed of 44.Gezzz something must be really wrong just can't find the fix for it><;;
Ultima
Your ISP is almost definitely throttling -- there's no other real explanation for you having ports forwarded, and the OpenOffice.org torrent still running slowly. Try enabling Protocol Encryption, or even forcing it and disabling legacy incoming connections. If that still doesn't help, then there's nothing much that could be done about your situation. mustang_lex
What version do you have of the Linksys router. basically if its ver 5 or 6, your screwed. I hate to say that but I just came back from Future Shop because the WRT54G has a list of speed issues and internet connect issues. I always thought Linksys was great quality but looks like their not. I did return it for a D-Link WBR-1310 and I'm currently downloading about 6 files with Utorrent while surfing with *so far* no issues. Oh and I got money back because the Dlink is cheaper. Go figure
helpneed
I guess I'm pretty lucky as I got mine in ver4, but things still pretty slow probably Ultima is right my ISP is throttling!
Switeck
If you know for certain you're limited to lower download/upload speeds due to throttling, you can use lower settings so web surfing will be easier.
