alacrity Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 actiontec gt704wg Running three computer network, one with µTorrent. Whenever (and only when) I use µTorrent, I lose reliable network connectivity after about 24 hours. WWW won't load; NNTP won't respond; ping times out; µTorrent slows down to abt 5K, but still works.I reboot the gateway, leaving it off abt 5 minutes and everything is fine. My Verizon DSL leases the same IP on boot. Static forwarded port. Have not tried a different torrent client.Any ideas? Some sort of police action?
jcbuz1970 Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 I had the same problem but with a different setup.Have you used the eventID patch to up the limit of concurrent TCP/IP connections ?I changed mine to 100 but when ever UT reach max-ish DL speed I would lose connection and couldn't log into router.Only a hard router reset would restore connections.I lowered my TCP/IP connections to 75 and all is well.Hope this helps.
Switeck Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 It's probably just an overload. At least one of µTorrent's settings is too much for your gateway...or for your connection! What's the tested speeds of your connection both up and down? So, what settings are you using in µTorrent as shown by Speed Guide (CTRL+G)?Have you changed any "dangerous" advanced settings? (a few of them can crash/slow even good hardware)
