Snapphane
This is a thing I found out. Any computer (at least one running WinXP) can make the µ very easy Just press AltGr + mHope this is helpful
Ultima
What's AltGr?I personally just copy and paste "µTorrent" from the forum description above =P
Snapphane
Look at your keyboard, you have an Alt, a Crtl, and a Alt Gr on it.If you can't find the Alt Gr, Crtl+Alt will work too
DomZ
Doesn't work for me
Ultima
I've never seen a keyboard with Alt Gr on it O.oCtrl+Alt+M does different things depending on what application you're using (I'm using Opera, so Ctrl+Alt+M opens up a new email message composition thingy).Alt+0181 works (if you have a numpad).Sidenote: This seems more like a Chat topic than something general about µTorrent itself =T
jroc
Well I got WinXP but when I do the Crtl Alt m I get:...........................(tumbleweeds blowing in the wind) But when I do Alt 0181µTADA!!!!!Thanks Ultima, I forgot the thread where I saw how to make it

Ultima
Hah even faster (by one stroke =P).You can usually find these using Character Map, right?
Firon
The problem with the 3-digit Alt codes is that they only work on the language setting it came from. if a user on a different language setting for their windows used it, it would not work. the 4-digit codes are universal
1c3d0g
Someone should sticky this thread...just in case the flood of n00bs come in asking the same thing 50x over...
silverfire
I just wish it'd be possible for 'utorrent' to be automatically replaced by 'µTorrent' on the forums, since it'd be much easier to type. I have a laptop, so I need to do Fn+Scroll Lock to turn on the numpad, and then press Alt+0181 and then Fn+Scroll Lock again to turn it off. oxymoron
I've never seen a keyboard with Alt Gr on it O.oYou're joking, are you?Or is this country dependant? The AltGr is the rightmost of the two ALT keys.Ok, so this actually seems to be an European thing:http://www-306.ibm.com/software/globalization/topics/keyboards/physical.jsp
Firon
Us people using US keyboards don't have AltGr, we just have two Alt keys
Ultima
Ah... it is some international thing... US keyboards (as Firon said) only have left and right Alt buttons =P@silverfire: I don't know if that'd be good. If someone posted something in a URL or code BBcode, fully intending to write utorrent.com (for example), wouldn't that change mess things up? Aside from that worry, I think that the word censoring facility in phpBB might work in replacing 'utorrent' with 'µTorrent'.
Keilaron
English/US QWERTY keyboards don't have Alt Gr / Alt Chr on them. Many other languages (including FR-CA and FR-FR) do. You don't really need to have one of those keyboards to use the key combo, though, just the key layout / language installed (and selected) Windows. As is the case for me.Sadly, m doesn't seem to work when my MBM hotkey is enabled (Ctrl+Alt+M)... then again, I don't really have a use for µ anyway ;P
sixshot
I usually just type the 'u' out rather than using the foreign character. Saves me time and the trouble of having to use a proper name for it. But whatever floats yer boat, use it.
jeronantropis
well, that's so strange. I have a Belgian Azerty-keyboard, and next to my %-key, i have a µ-key. seems even in azerty keyboards, there's a huge difference ...
UTorrentUser
µTorrent ROX!!!I love that¿
Animorc
Maybe we should set a filter that replaces all "u" to "µ" But on the other hand, that would be rather disturbing.Translating utorrent to µTorrent would be rather easy though. Just set some regexp and it would be fixed without having the links to utorrent.com broken.
Demon-boy
OK, so now that's cleared up, how about how it's pronounced? It could be 'yoo-torrent', 'myoo-torrent' or even microtorrent, seeing as µ can stand for 'micro'. I go for 'myoo' personally.
Keloran
ludde already said he calls it microtorrent becasue u-torrent sounds liek a question[EDITED: I did not say this /Ludde]
