MustNotSleep
i recently decided to minimize disk fragmentation and enabled the pre-allocate disk space option.so i downloaded a torrent that has many files inside it, and i chose to download only a single file inside it (it was like 2mb from 800mb). keep in mind this was before i started the torrent, this was when it was just on my list.so i press Start and to my surprise the full 800mb get allocated on my HD, instead of just the file i selected.. luckily, this time i had space to spare, but i would be toast if didn't..so, could we please have this fixed in the next version? thanks. Ultima
Is your hard drive formatted in NTFS 5+? If that's the case, you can set the diskio.sparse_files setting in the Advanced Options page of the Preferences to *true. Read more about sparse files here.Explanation as to why µTorrent does this in the first place.
