eulogy667
Hi there everyone I have utorrent 1.6 and recently it had a habbit of freezing and crashing. It would always restart fine but now whenever it starts I get an error message saying that utorrent isn't working properly and needs to shut down and would you like to send a dmp file to the makers. Something along those lines anyhelp would be great.
Switeck
Delete ALL of µTorrent's settings files and re-run it.You likely have bigger problems on your computer, µTorrent is just the 'canary in the coal mine' that dies first.

Switeck
Viruses, spyware, broken LSP link, flakey firewall software, bad proxy settings, or even insane game copyprotection.

Ultima
If you don't mind my asking (and if you can remember), what kinds of things were found? Even if the anti-spyware software thinks it removed something, it often isn't the case -- some spywares are tricky little pieces of junk.
Switeck
Run Process Explorer (3rd party app from sysinternals.com ) and post a list from it of all your running-in-memory applications. Chances are there's one that seriously interferes with µTorrent.Don't be too surprised if there's a virus or a spyware app in there, all the best checkers can find is what they know...the latest-and-greatest almost always manages to slip through. eulogy667
Hey guys this is the list of processes cheers for all the help really appreciated
Switeck
I see an absolute horde of Norton-related processes there. (Norton and µTorrent haven't gotten along for a LONG time.)It also seems like you're running AVG and Norton AV both at the same time.
