HyperAlloyCombatChassis
Hi guys.A friend of mine recently subscibed to Sky Broadband (in the UK) and wanted to start using uTorrent after I reccommended it to him. However, after installing uTorrent his download speed never gets above 0.5 - 1.0 kbps. His ports are open and the program is working the same on his PC as it is on mine - except for the speed issue. I've read a few questions on this forum regarding satellite broadband services and how they perpetually firewall your connection (not sure if I got that quote correct). If this is the case then at least its an answer; he's tearing his hair out, the poor bloke!Cheers
Ultima
http://distribution.openoffice.org/p2p/index.htmlHow does a torrent from here run?
Switeck
You can be firewalled and still get decent torrent speeds down AND up...but only on torrents that have a few seeds and peers.
PaulCain
And I was tempted to switch over to SKY as well. I know we have a list of ISPs that DO tamper with p2p torrenting but do we have a list of ISPs that DON'T?
Ultima
Someone was compiling one before, but I guess it kinda stopped after people stopped contributing... it wasn't all too comprehensive anyway.
HyperAlloyCombatChassis
Well, I'm with Orange - formally Wanadoo, and all seems OK when I'm downloading/uploading torrents. That's one for the list (if it's ever completed)
