Raffles
HelloI downloaded something that is actually a set of video files and I waited for the first to finish downloading and then watched it. All good, the other files then download. However, I noticed that when watching the completed file, it exhibits a short pause exactly every 1 minute. A second or so of the video is skipped. If I exit utorrent, this doesn't happen any more.I'm guessing it's because I'm uploading it while watching it. Would it be possible to implement a 'Don't upload' feature for selected files, much like the 'Don't download' option when right-clicking one of the files? Ultima
No, that won't happen. And I doubt the problem has anything to do with file locking, otherwise errors would be thrown.
Lord Alderaan
I watch seeding video's all the time without problems. So it can't be just the uploading part. Did you try copying the file and playing the copy. IMHO its a simple enough workaround for any problem that might be caused by µtorrent accessing the files that no actual changes in µtorrent or the bittorrent protocol are needed.Besides a Don't Upload feature would pretty much go completely against the bittorrent idea... The idea is you share what you download for a while. I can think of a couple of other problems that could occur...
Raffles
Yeah, that occurred to me too, but that's where uTorrent's anti-leech feature comes in. I think that's a great idea and so I don't think it makes much of a difference whether you decide to stop seeding the entire thing or only certain files within it.This does seem odd to me too. It never used to happen and it really is exactly every minute that it jumps and only when utorrent is seeding it. Happens with VLC, WMP, Winamp and Media Player Classic, so I'm pretty certain it's uT.As you say, it's no biggie. I'll copy the file every time, I think that's the most feasible option. Thanks for the feedback.
