Nothing personal. Most of us don't realize a great number of people have no concept of the workings of a computer. It definitely isn't something to be ashamed about! You ask you learn. Btw the answer is No to both. When a computer is turned off it can do virtually nothing (I think pretty much the only thing it does is keep a small build in clock running on a small battery. And when µtorrent is closed it unloads itself completely, there is no permanent hidden background stuff (although it does take up to 30 seconds to really close all of its operations even though the window has already disappeared).
