tooosoo
hi,i'm new to the forum, so please excuse me if i failed to find a post addressing this problem.according to portforward.com i need to setup a static ip in order to forward ports. i tried using the DNS addresses given in the modem web interface, but it wouldn't work. I tried calling comcast, but they said that setting a static ip was against their Terms Of Use, and wouldn't give up the DNS addresses.Any advice on how to forward ports then? Thanks!windows xpcable modem: SBG900
Switeck
I had to use my router's gateway ip as my "DNS servers" ips. My router gets the DNS ips from ComCast, but it means if any sudden changes are made to the DNS values my computer will still be seeing potentially 24 hours old DNS values on my router.
