Getting rubbish speeds with my netgear router...

Ok, here goes.

I live in England, My ISP is BT total broadband (are they known for bottlenecking torrent speeds?)

I have a netgear DG834GT.

I'm pretty sure that i'm getting bad speeds in my utorrent, and i have a yellow status icon.

I've configured my router to map the ports properly, but when i do the port test, i'm still getting a message that says i have a blocked port. I'm trying to use port 16788. I have 8meg broadband, and my speeds downloading from newzbin are what they should be, so why can't i get good speeds with my torrents?

I'm also using norton internet security, but i have unticked 'Stealth' or whatever it is so that should be ok...

here is a printscreen of my router settings:

I've also set that for outbound services, but i get this error in utorrent:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I don't know this software... just disable it, or even uninstall. In fact when you have internet connection through properly configured router (and only for yourself) you can stop using firewall at your PC at all.

Assuming your PC's IP is 192.168.0.1 - looks good

Huh?? And what for? Sounds very fishy.

And turn the UPnP port mapping in utorrent off, you don't need it.
