wismanandy
Well, theres so many reasons that BSOD appear its almost pointless to even begin discussing why. Generally the type of application your using that cuases windows to BSOD is the best clue as to why. Maybe faulty memory, bad drivers (network card, graphic anything)Something heavy on network access like bit torrent programs, that generate BSOD , leads me to think that you should try updating your Network cards driver. and utr modem/router drivers too, either update or downdate (is that a word) too one thats a little more stable and compatible. I too had this problem but not with utorrent (i dont use it ). Under a fresh install (indeed new pc, with out of the box windows XP media centre) my network card was operating on the standard windows os drivers for my network card. A quick visit to realtek website to download the latest drivers fixed my random crashes using bit torrent almost completely.Hope this helps, however i stopped using utorrent, cuase despite it not BSOD anymore, it does hang my system regularly. which is wierd for such a "light wieght: client. Switeck
It can be light weight if you use very conservative settings and turn off a LOT of extra features, such as DHT, UPnP, high half open rates, multiple torrents at once, lots of connections, with high down+up speeds. Hangon
Wismanandy, you said that you went to realtek and downloaded some drives which almost completely stopped bit torrent from crashing your computer.Could you tell me which drives you downloaded?Right,so basically the reason why BSOD appears is because of way too much stress on the PC?So,I can shorten by doing things like downloading 1 file at a time instead of 2 GB at once?IS that what I should do?
