RPT
Has anyone found that their computer freezes while uTorrent is running? For a while now my computer seems to inexplicably freeze for no good reason, and I'm beginning to think it may be a Torrent Client problem. Here's what I've noticed:- The problem doesn't seem to occur when I'm in safe mode- It seems to happen most often when I'm actively downloading- The computer is totally unresponsive (including Ctl+Alt+Del), but the mouse still moves around, the animation on the mouse is active, and the NUM LOCK key on the keyboard works.- I had the same problem with BitLord, and I switched to uTorrent hoping to resolve it. No such luck!I have reinstalled Windows XP Pro a couple of times, but the problem persists. I have an ATI Saphire (RADEON) X300SE video card, an AMD Athlon 64 bit 3000+ (1.8 GH) CPU and 1 Gig of DDR Ram.Can anyone offer any suggestions? Thanks! Switeck
It's probably just some adware or spyware on your computer.Have you run disk cleanup?(...not that that will help with adware/spyware.)
Daelakk
Have you checked the list of incompatible software? What is your internet connection and what settings are you using in Speed Guide? This is also happening to me. Those are just generic questions I got asked, but some of the time they resolve your problems.Maybe it's a hardware issue? Run memtest.
RPT
Thanks for the suggestions. I run spyware/adware tests regularly. I confess I am not sure how to check for incompatable software ... any suggestions? I have cable hi-speed, and I have done the Upload/Download tests. I have the settings at at 17 kB's up and 180 kB's down. I'll run memtest & report back.Thx again.
