RS2KT Posted February 10, 2007 Report Share Posted February 10, 2007 Hi folks, I have been reading various how to's and guides on the net to configure Utorrent to help speed up downlaod times and am a bit confused as to what the optimun settings should be?Im connected with Tiscali averaging around 5 to 6 MbpsConnected through a Speedtouch 330 ADSL modem (latest drivers installed)operating windows XP SP2I did manage to get download speeds in excess of 100KB/s per torrent for short periods (2hrs approx) during my first few days when experimenting with settingsAM now lucky if i get into double figuresCurrent settingsRandom port :enabledUPnP port mapping : ENabledUtorrent firewall exception: EnabledGlobal Max upload : 30Global max download : 0 (unlimited)Global Max connections : 100Max connected peers per torrent: 30# upload slots per torent: 20Additonal Bittorrent features all enabledProtocol encryption enabled and allwoing legacy connections MAx acdtive torrents : 10Max active downlaods : 10Any help or advice much apreciated Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Switeck Posted February 10, 2007 Report Share Posted February 10, 2007 Your numerical values are probably excessive for your connection.Exceeding Speed Guide (CTRL+G) settings by any significant amount is likely to cause problems!So the closest match to 30 KB/sec upload speed is...xx/384k which recommends MORE connections but far fewer upload slots and max active torrents at once.
