Hi folks,

I have been reading various how to's and guides on the net to configure Utorrent to help speed up downlaod times and am a bit confused as to what the optimun settings should be?

Im connected with Tiscali averaging around 5 to 6 Mbps

Connected through a Speedtouch 330 ADSL modem (latest drivers installed)

operating windows XP SP2

I did manage to get download speeds in excess of 100KB/s per torrent for short periods (2hrs approx) during my first few days when experimenting with settings

AM now lucky if i get into double figures

Current settings

Random port :enabled

UPnP port mapping : ENabled

Utorrent firewall exception: Enabled

Global Max upload : 30

Global max download : 0 (unlimited)

Global Max connections : 100

Max connected peers per torrent: 30

# upload slots per torent: 20

Additonal Bittorrent features all enabled

Protocol encryption enabled and allwoing legacy connections

MAx acdtive torrents : 10

Max active downlaods : 10

Any help or advice much apreciated

Your numerical values are probably excessive for your connection.

Exceeding Speed Guide (CTRL+G) settings by any significant amount is likely to cause problems!

So the closest match to 30 KB/sec upload speed is...xx/384k which recommends MORE connections but far fewer upload slots and max active torrents at once.
