lauren2404
I've just changed my ISP from AOL (which was 1MB speed) to Sky (which is 8MB speed). When I was with AOL, I always eventually reached download speeds of 110KB/s on my torrents whatever time of day or night. But now I'm with sky, I'm only getting speeds of 50KB/s on my torrents, which is annoying as I changed my ISP to increase the speed! I know that the speed of the download depends on the number of people sharing, etc, but even after I've been connected for ages my torrent speed never reaches anywhere near 100KB/s like it used to with AOL. I no I can get fast speeds with Sky as I have donwloaded things on sites at 600KB/s, so it can't be my new ISP. I read on this forum that Netgear routers (I have a netgear WGR614 router) have problems with the number of global connections. so I changed the global max. number of connections to 200, but my speed still does not increase. I have also set the connection type to 2Mbit in the speed guide. What else can i try? Thanks for anyones help!
torrero
xx/640k should be the better choice. xx/2mbit in the connection guide is only for extremely fast connections. Remember, you have to select the UPload , not the download speed !
Switeck
Have you done GOOGLE searches to see if Sky ISP throttles BitTorrent traffic?
