Downloading off on someone else's router

I am connected wirelessly to another's router, so I'm not sure what port to connect to. However, over the last 3 days my download rate has dropped significantly, from 100 kbs to 10-35 kbs. Around this same period of time I downloaded utorrent 1.6. Does anyone know why my download rate was destroyed. I tried to look at the guides but seeing that I dont what type of router it is there wasn't much help.

Chances are, that connection is already overloaded.

You may not be the only 'free rider' connected to it!

Your best bet is to use Speed Guide (CTRL+G) and choose either xx/64k or xx/96k and then set upload speed to 6 KB/sec. That way, you won't be using alot of their bandwidth (usually!) so they won't notice you.

You won't be able to forward ports, so if UPnP doesn't work there's nothing you can do to un-firewall yourself.

Do note that what you're doing is probably illegal, so you may want to quit doing it period. :P
