surikanta
well ... i would like to see integrated some kind of fake torrent checker ...maybe using this list http://fenopy.com/fakefinder/ thanks
Ultima
The way I see it, that site's of very limited use. For one thing, it's probably not up-to-date. For another thing, you can probably figure out whether a torrent's fake simply by looking at the torrent statistics (seed/peer count and availability), or even the comments, if the torrent tracker/index supports that (and that would also be faster than the above site). surikanta
not all public sites have comments.and not always do people download the torrent with the most seeders, there are always torrents more dificult/rare to find. and even if isnt up-to-date i find it usefull. but probably its as close to being updated as it can....and not everyone has bandwidth enought to spare....as an program option or plugin like http://azureus.sourceforge.net/plugin_details.php?plugin=safepeermaybe there are other sites providing this kind of lists....http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2007/02/23/how-to-identify-fake-torrents-uploaded-by-anti-piracy-organizations/http://forum.mininova.org/index.php?showtopic=1617...well ... maybe i'll just try making peerguardian use that external list. only the url list though. Hans5849
When someone has peerguardian installed on their computer, how about the ability to also block peers using that.
Firon
No, do it yourself.
Hans5849
Let me rephrase what I said, use peerguardian to ban peers so you don't connect to people who will send you bad data, instead of just blocking them.
Switeck
ipfilter.dat can already block/ban ips the same way as peer guardian, however it doesn't disconnect currently connected peers. Stopping and restarting the torrent will do that though.
