Alexander_Q
I have uTorrent 1.61 Build 490 and webUI v0.310 beta 2, the files for which have been placed in C:\Documents and Settings\Alexander\Application Data\uTorrent. In this folder is the file SETTINGS.DAT. The webui files (filename "webui_v0.310_beta_2") have NOT been unzipped. I have entered the path http://YourIP:UTport/gui/ into Firefox 2.0.0.2 (Yes, replacing "YourIP" with my actual IP address, and "UTport" with 47364). This prompts me for my username and password, which I have previously setup via the uTorrent preferences/advanced settings/webui. Upon entering them correctly, I am taken to a blank white page. This happens replacing my IP address with 127.0.0.1 also (when on my own computer).Note that my IP address is fixed. As the readme suggested I then entered the URL "http://YourIP:UTport/gui/?action=setsetting&s=webui.cookie&v={}" into my browser (again, putting in my actual IP address and port, which produced the text "{"":""}" on a blank white page. Reloading the original URL again reproduces the original results of a blank white page.I have used for the webui both the same port I use for uTorrent and another I specified in advanced settings (47363, 47364), both with no favourable results. As the readme suggests, I have now come here to http://forum.utorrent.com to find either a solution, or direction to where one may be obtained. Ultima
webui_v0.310_beta_2.rar is a RAR file, not a ZIP file You're supposed to place webui.zip in %appdata%\uTorrent.I've always known this, but am finally realizing/understanding why it's so difficult for people to install webui: it's not so much that the instructions themselves are complicated or hard to follow, but the fact that there's a certain level of precision required when following the instructions
Alexander_Q
Does make you wonder why the latest webui files are available as a rar file then. Cheers for the reply.EDIT: Success. Many thanks. I was too eager to get it working that I overlooked the "webui.zip" file within the original rar file.
