Game90
i have some files on the HDD that appears to be there, but when i try to delete or open them windows complains that it cannot find the file specified. so i presume its some filesystem problem, i tried using the chkdsk to check for errors but it says none (windows uilities suck)so i need some 3rd party programs for this, care to recommend some? used to use notron uilities for disk checks, but my old version doesnt work with SP2 now. notron is bloatware and slows the com down anyway. Ultima
It could just be Windows/NTFS being stupid (and not really being broken)... I've seen that happen before, and it took a bit of time before the file disappeared from the directory file listing.I've never used it before, but maybe you might want to try SpinRite? Or maybe some utility from the Ultimate Boot CD?
Game90
thanks alot, will try that later. the resaon why im so keen to fix this is because the ugly "ghost" files are on my freaking desktop...so annoying. if its in some other folder, i wouldnt care.
