Ultima
Exactly how is this definitely a speed problem? The way I see it, it's a problem of setting high expectations more than anything.Anyhow, you provide very little concrete information, so do check the first link in my signature. Switeck
Some of the seeds are probably firewalled. You have to wait for them to connect to you. Were you firewalled as well (which you say you're not), they could never connect. Even still, they are often very slow about making new connections -- as they may be running other torrents and making new connections there instead. Some of the seeds already (probably!) have reached max connections for that torrent. They WON'T connect to you unless they lose a connection. Some of the seeds have already disconnected from the torrent but are still recorded for hours as being there. Naturally, you won't be connecting with them either.

tecmobrowns
i dl the open oiffice file and got a 288/sec dl speed with only 3 seeds! so i have utorrent in windows firewall exceptions. so what do you take from this now?
TheBear
I'd take from this that the people sharing with you on the original torrent are doing a poor job of it.
Ultima
And that I was correct in saying that you had too-lofty an expectation. BitTorrent does not guarantee speeds, ever.
