flitox Posted March 5, 2007 Report Share Posted March 5, 2007 ok i have that weird issue at time. utorrent suddenly stop to being able to connect to trackers (piblics & privates), dispalying an 'tracker timeout' msg. when it's happening, if i close utorrent, then i can't restart it and get told that it's already running. effectively, when looking at the task manager, utorrent process is still running. the problem here is that it cannot be killed so the only way to have utorrent restated is to reboot the computer.when doing so utorrent work as good as it can.any suggestion of what could happening??? flitox Posted March 6, 2007 Author Report Share Posted March 6, 2007 the connection is up & running great, in utorrent i'm still connected to the others peers, download & upload as good as i can do, even seems like i can get new peers connecting to me. but i can not establish a connection with the tracker (when this happen, it's for every tracker i have to connect to), all icons turn to red, the only at the botton of utorrent is still green, port is is open.i'm pretty sure this has more to do with the fact that when this happens, i can't kill utorrent process in the task manager and have to restart the computer to have it work back to normal. but what in win XP can cause this?? i have no idea as 99% of the time utorrent worked very well and i don't have any problems with it.i'm using ver 1.6 (built 474) and it's also happen after a while in the previous versio ni used which was maybe a 1.54 beta version (i don't have the .exe anymore and i dont remember) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

flitox Posted March 8, 2007 Author Report Share Posted March 8, 2007 yep, it's has a firewall but ports have been opened. i doubt it is the problem as 99% of the time i have absolutly no problems with u torrent.it just at time when something lock something in windows (i guess) since i can kill the process in the task manager.i would only use public trackers i would not even care since the download/upload seems to work as good as it can but i'm also using private tracker with ratio and here it's really annoying as i'm losing all the benefit of uploading. If you had multi-GB torrents running, the delay between the window disappearing and µTorrent unloading from memory can be well over 15 seconds. Switeck Posted March 9, 2007 Report Share Posted March 9, 2007 Please get Process Explorer from www.sysinternals.com (bought out by Microsoft unfortunately...but I think it still works ok, for now.)It may be able to tell why µTorrent is stuck in memory based on whether any DLLs it's using are loaded improperly into memory (shown in yellow.) It will also allow you to see dependencies between µTorrent and DLLs that should not exist.It's a longshot, but it's the best idea I have for now.
