ColdArmor
What is a good value for net.max_halfopen? It has been changed in v1.2 and instead of true or false, there is a numerical value - default it is a 8, but it seems to take FOREVER to connect now. I had this the true before so my connection wouldn't get choked by sending out too many connections at once, but now it seems like it doesn't try enough connections. NiteShdw
Windows XP SP2 only allows 10 maximum half-open connections. This isn't true of other Windows versions. Some people have a patch for XP SP2 that allows more half-open connections.
ColdArmor
So if I'm running SP2 even if I set the value 10+ Windows will still only let 10 at the max? How dumb is that, Downloading the patch right now. =]
Firon
If you set it higher than 10+, you're gonna have a lot of problems. uTorrent would fill up the connection queue and you wouldn't be able to connect to anything new (including websites) while said queue was full. 1c3d0g
Unless you apply the patch I presume...
Firon
In fact, setting it to 10 would cause that effect, higher than that would just make it worse, on an unpatched SP2 system of course.
vithos
leave it on 8 or so without the patch... but I'd recommend using the patch. you can find it at http://www.lvllord.de/
