eng Posted January 4, 2006 Author Report Posted January 4, 2006 My opinion is that all non-ccTLDs should have a non-country flag. It would make it easier for all .net, .com, .edu etc. to be displayed correctly since that's impossible atm thus noone can complain about the thing being wrongly displayed. And as a side-note. The more flags displayed, the better. That's another issue in and of itself. Still, what to do about ccTLD that aren't really used for their country? I'm sure there are some .cc domains that are from ISPs in Cocos Islands, but probably not very many. All this would be a moot point if peer.resolve_country worked with a non-default .conf though ccTLDs missing from .conf / why they weren't in the .conf.ac / .uk territory.aq / antarctica, no flag.bv / .no territory, not in use.cc / .au territory.cs / same as .yu, not in use.cx / .au territory.gb / same as .uk, inactive.hm / .au territory.nc / .fr territory.sj / .no territory, not in use.tk / .nz territory.tp / same as .tl.um / .us territories.yt / .fr territoryccTLD missing from .bmp.eu .gf .gp .md .ps .re .su .tf.com/.net/.edu/(et cetera) default to .us flagHope that answers any questions about what is or isn't mapped in the current .bmp and .conf files. Animorc Posted January 4, 2006 Report Posted January 4, 2006 "Still, what to do about ccTLD that aren't really used for their country?"I think they should have the flag of their own country even if they are publicly open. Quote
eng Posted January 4, 2006 Author Report Posted January 4, 2006 ctinets.net|HKctm.net|MOcyberec.com|HKttn.net|TWUpdated .conf except for ctinets.net which resolved as .us for me. Quote

eng Posted January 7, 2006 Author Report Posted January 7, 2006 btcentralplus.com = should come up with a uk flagThat domain has been mapped for quite a while, not sure why it isn't working for you. Quote

Pikul_Man Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Pikul_Man, that flag isn't missing from the flags.bmp which you can find in the first post in this thread. The link isn't working. And if it does appear on the .bmp, then why is it not showing up on my utorrent program? (btw, I set my "peer.resolve_country" to *true).................... Quote
boo Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 peer.resolve_country should be false, if you set it to true, it uses a online database. Quote
Firon Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 You can't use peer.resolve_country in combination with a custom flags.bmp and flags.conf Quote

Animorc Posted January 12, 2006 Report Posted January 12, 2006 (edited) m7b: Put it like this instead:fasttelco.com|KWqualitynet.net|KWEdit: This one seems to be unmapped as well:panline.net|CSThere's something funny about the current flag mapping. A large bunch of recently correct flags are now forgotten. telia.com, kymp.net, btcentralplus.com and proxad.net are only examples of them. Edited January 12, 2006 by Animorc Quote
Phazor Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 NEFKOM.NET | DE -- Currently Shown As US(Yes, its NEFKOM with a K, not with a C) Quote
Animorc Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 nefkom.net is already mapped as DE, but for some reason it doesn't work. Search the flags.conf file for nefkom.net and you'll see. Quote
Firon Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 it's case sensitive, so perhaps that's why Quote
chaosblade Posted January 13, 2006 Report Posted January 13, 2006 Yeah, Other german ISPs were weird cased, like mediaWays.net, only works with the capitol letter. Quote
eng Posted January 14, 2006 Author Report Posted January 14, 2006 Updated the .confAs far as case-sensitivity is concerned: All the domains mentioned above are ones that I've personally seen/added which is why they have the case they do. I can't add every single case possibility to the .conf (would make it a pain to maintain), not to mention I don't know if they .conf can even handle the same domain with different case in it. Quote
chaosblade Posted January 14, 2006 Report Posted January 14, 2006 I dont think there are cases of diff. letter case for the same ISP. All ISPs with weird capital lettering have only had one recurring name, Like mediaWays and nefkom. Quote
Animorc Posted January 15, 2006 Report Posted January 15, 2006 It's probably not an issue about letter casing since telia.com already has a lowercase mapping. The same goes for btcentralplus.com and all other failing hostnames in my list. You might want to edit the first post btw "The .conf doesn't have very many hosts since it only has what I've personally seen in the last few minutes."That sentence doesn't fit very good anymore I think.
